RETURN TO LEARN
2020-21
The purpose of this plan is to provide answers and expectations while students are involved in distance learning.
Our hope is to maintain academic rigor while providing a sense of stability to our students and their families.
TRADITIONAL / DISTANCE LEARNING
- Traditional in-person school begins August 27, 2020
- A shift to distance learning, if necessary, will include the use of the following platforms:
Zoom, Google classroom, Edgenutiy, Email, Paper / Pencil Packets
SCHOOL PROCEDURES
DAILY SCREENING
- All students and staff will be screened upon arrival at school through designated doors no earlier than 7:40.
- Temperatures will be checked, any person exhibiting a temperature of 100 degrees or more or having symptoms listed by the Oklahoma Dept. of Health will be isolated, and a parent or guardian will be contacted to pick up the student as quickly as possible.
- All visitors must wear a mask to enter any part of the campus.
SCHOOL BUSES
- All bus riders will be screened for temperature before boarding the bus.
- Parents are to remain at the bus stop until their child has been checked.
- Students will be seated by family and socially distanced as much as possible.
- Windows will be open to maximize airflow on the bus, unless weather dictates otherwise.
- Bus will be sanitized and disinfected on a daily basis.
- The district encourages parents to bring their children to school instead of riding the bus.
- For afternoon pick up, students will be dismissed from the cafeteria instead of in front of the building.
CAR LINE – ELEMENTARY

CAFETERIA & MEAL SERVICE
- Masks will be used by the cafeteria staff when serving and during food preparation when social distancing is not possible.
- Tables will be disinfected and cleaned between meal groups.
- 3rd through 6th grades will eat lunch in their rooms.
- PreK-2 will eat in the lunchroom and will social distance a much as possible.
- Junior High and High School will eat lunch at staggered times to maximize social distancing. Students will be grouped by grades levels when eating.
IN THE CLASSROOM
- No sharing of supplies will be allowed this school year.
- Seating will utilize social distancing when possible in all classrooms.
- Teachers will have access to sanitizing materials and will wipe down surfaces in the classroom as often as possible.
- Student choosing to bring snacks to school must bring individually wrapped snacks.
- When possible, classroom doors will be open to allow for maximum air flow.
RECESS/PE/MUSIC/ATHLETICS
- Elementary students will have outdoor recess in accordance with schedules limiting the number of students on the playground at one time.
- Sanitation will be available for all students before and after recess.
- Outdoor PE for all students will be utilized as much as possible. Inside the gym, social distancing will be practiced as much as possible.
- In music, social distancing will be in place. The music rooms will be sanitized as often as possible.
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
- Athletics will practice social distancing where possible. All lockers rooms will be sanitized daily.
- Athletes will be required to hand sanitized as frequently as possible.
- Screening procedures will be used on all students before participation in extra-curricular activity.
PROCEDURE FOR STUDENT TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID
- The school must be notified immediately when a student has been tested positive.
- The student will remain in quarantine for 14 days.
- The siblings of the student that attend school must also remain in quarantine for 14 days.
- Teachers will contact the student to arrange for distance learning.
- Notification will be sent to all parents in the district indicating there is a positive case(s) and the level (elementary, junior high, high school or group / activity). No individual name will be mentioned.
- Parents will be encouraged to watch for symptoms which are: Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills and / or repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
- The district encourages testing for students that show one of more of these symptoms.
